German is defferent compared to Taiwanese.

Hi Alica,

I think, it is not common to communicate about MSN with German companies. They want to communicate with e-mails or other correspondence possibilities. Nevertheless, I appreciate you willingness to communicate with them. Is the website helpful for you? Have you other resources to learn German or is this the only one?

Well, I think they were serious when they say no MSN in workplace. As far as I know, many companies (ie. banks)in Canada do not allow employee to use MSN in office, they even set up block on their internet to district using MSN. In this case, your German co-worker did not fool you.

Hi Alicia,
I admire your positive thinking! I am sure with few German words will help you to know them you are honest, a positive mind person. :->

In my work place, we are not to allow to use MSN messanger nor Skype. In addition, our company has a firewall system, and what's more, people in network administrative section keep eye on which websites we visit while office hour.

My image of MSN and those online chat applications are just for fun thing. Not a business communication tool, to be honest.

I have to agree with everyone else Alicia. I don't usually think of MSN as a business communication tool however I do find much of the functionality on skype to be very useful and when I think about it MSN or Skype are probably just as effective as business tools as email. It just depends how you use them. It's just as easy to spend your day sending non work related emails back and forth with your friends as it is to send them MSN messages afterall. Maybe the rest of the world should catch up with Taiwan and use these tools more in the workplace.
[this is good]

German is very interesting language and quit hard too, but I still think that you can impressed your colleagues by knowing few German words, that can be just like a fun, you will write them „Hallo” in German and it will definitely attract to your personality. They will feel that you are more open to learn new things and very friendly too. In this point, I agree with Satomi. In addition, you can try to do first step by using e-mail, who knows, may be second step your colleagues will take themselves. Anyway, it is never bad to show your hospitality and friendliness.
